Title: Coffee Break: Linux Agent failed upgrades and what do to about them
Presenter: Ali Genc
Date: Wednesday 20 November 2024 at 16:00 CET (Europe – Amsterdam time)
Description:

This month, we see our colleague and senior consultant Ali Genc jump on the virtual stage to present a webinar during a SCOMathon Coffee Break session. The reason for this session was a blog post about failing SCOM Linux agent upgrades and what to do about it. This leads to a session where first will be an explanation of how the Linux/Unix agent for SCOM came about and what the process looks like right now. And next we dive into the reason why some Linux agent updates fail with what seems to be a rollback to a previous version.

When: Wednesday 20 November at 4 PM CET.

Presenters: Ali Burak Genc (TopQore) and Bruce Cullen (SquaredUp)

Topic (short): Linux monitoring with SCOM and things to keep in mind when the agent fails

Description: Ever tried upgrading the Linux agent from the SCOM console, which reports success, yet the upgrade failed and reverted to the old version. Why does this happen? What can you do about it, and what other common causes of upgrade failures are there? We will look at the answers before looking more broadly at Linux agent installation/upgrades and monitoring in a comprehensive look at the Linux/Unix agent.

A recording will be available usually within a few days after the webinar itself and we will link it below.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!
